National Eating Disorder Awareness Week will take place on Sunday, February 21st through Saturday, February 27th. During this week, thousands of people come together to help raise awareness about body image and bring attention to the severity of eating disorders. According to the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), 20 million women and 10 million men suffer from a clinically significant eating disorder at some time in their life, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, or other specified feeding or eating disorders.
While there is hope and recovery is possible, many people suffer from the long-term effects of these illnesses. To bring awareness to National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, we will be sharing related news about eating disorder awareness via our social media sites.
